Settle residents who are on the electoral roll should have received a letter (one for each person registered on the roll). The letter explains that the Town Council would like your view on adding an extra 2% to the precept (this is part of your Council Tax which is used to pay for services provided by Settle Town Council). The 2% will be used to support the day to day running of the pool to ensure its operation for the foreseeable future.
This is purely in relation to support the Swimming Pool and does not affect any other service the Town Council continues to provide or in fact any other service provided by Craven District Council or North Yorkshire County Council.
If you need any further information please click on the following link to go to the Swimming Pool WEB site Settle Area Swimming Pool.
To see what each of the different councils are responsible for please click on Council Responsibilities.
If you have received a letter please vote and return your voting slips to the town council offices, posting it in the letter box on the Front door of the building.
The Closing Date is 29th January 2018 at noon.
If you have not received a letter and you are on the electoral roll please contact the clerk on 01729 823617 or email firstname.lastname@example.org with your full name and address.
If you have received a letter by mistake please accept our apologies (the 2271 letters were all delivered by hand to save postage by a small number of councillors and volunteers from the swimming pool).
Please either pop it through the appropriate door if its nearby or otherwise return to the Town Hall with a note saying it’s been mis-delivered.
If you have any queries or wish to discuss this with the Clerk please do not hesitate to contact me on:
