 Craven District Council Draft Local Plan(19/6/17 version) is now out for consultation – the deadline for comments is 31st July 2017.
The Town Council will be objecting to some of the sites.
Please look at the documents online at Craven District Council draft local plan – in particular the ‘PRE-PUBLICATION DRAFT CRAVEN LOCAL PLAN’ pages 67-73 for the preferred sites for development.

SG025 South of Ingfield Lane
SG032 Greenfoot Car park
SG079 beyond Townhead Way
SG060 Ind Units Kirkgate
Some of these sites were not in the previous draft local plan that was consulted on. Settle’s allocation of housing is 25 per year
You have to submit your comments again even if you commented before or add new comments. If you want to see previous responses see the document ‘Site Response papers’ pages 17-27

NYCC are consulting residents on how they disposal of hazardous waste for residents e.g white spirit, weed killers, pesticides, brake fluid etc At the moment you can’t take it to recycling centres

Free Disc Parking Scheme Market Place Settle is now in operation

Information for residents and visitors Parking on the Market Place and surrounding streets

The new parking scheme is now in operation. Please make sure you have a disc if you intend to use the Market Place for free parking. Display the time you arrive on the disc. Failure to display a timed disc will result in a parking fine. Harrogate Borough Council are the enforcement agency and any enquiries or appeals should be directed to them.
